Yet another copy of Minor Threat: Discography!!

So, it seems that I have started a little obsession with these Minor Threat records.

I have purchased all 4 colors of the 12" and I am glad that I did get the yellow. When I purchased it, I did not know that it was on heavy vinyl and pressed at 45rpm.

I thought I was done until I got this new lot of records and there was another copy of the green cover with green vinyl!

That now brings the total up to 5 copies.

Another huge CL lot!! Death/Exodus/Sabbath/Metal Church/Ramones

So, I found another guy on CL with a big lot of records (+-150pcs). He said there was a smattering of Punk, Crust and Metal and mainly classic rock.

I pulled out about 40 records in total that I am going to keep and the rest will end up on eBay.

The best record that I found in this lot and one of the reasons that I bought it, is for Death: Individual Thought Patterns on Back on Black records.
This is one of my favorite Death Metal records and the presentation is excellent.

Nice, heavy gatefold and the wax is clear with red splatter!

Next, I got a few really good early Metal records including...

Guns and Roses: Appetite for Destruction.. This is a repress on 180gram vinyl and heavy cover.

Black Sabbath: Masters of Reality. I had a copy of this already, but it was pretty abused! This is much nicer looking!

Metallica: Ride the Lightning. This is a repress as well and I have the original, but its a bit heavier and should sound better than my copy from 1987.

Metal Church: The Dark. 1986 Elektra records. This is a fantastic record, even now. Some good old Seattle pride.

Next, is a interesting set of Punk/Crust records. I have not heard some of this stuff yet.

Sex/Vid: Communal Living on Dom America records.

Hirax/F.K.U. split 7": Twitch of the Thrash Nerve/Satan's Fall

Amebix: No Sanctuary on Alternative Tentacles records with bonus 7"

Despise You: West Side Horizons on Fuck Yoga records. Limited to 500 copies

Mind Eraser: Glacial Reign on Painkiller records.. clear vinyl

Void/The Faith split on Dischord records. Repress on purple vinyl

For some reason in all the lots of records that I am buying, there always seems to end up being a Kill Your Idols record.

This time its a Kill Your Idols/Poison Idea Bipolar Hardcore Split on TKO records picture disc.

Another great find in this lot is Exodus: Bonded in Blood! Original press on Torrid records from 1985!!

To round out this lot is a few old school punk rock records.

First is The Ramones: Self Titled on Sire records from 1976. I have another copy of this, but again, it is pretty thrashed and this one is much nicer!

Next are 2 Dead Kennedys records; Bedtime for Democracy and Too Drunk to Fuck! Bedtime is from 1986 on Manifesto records and Too Drunk is on Cherry Red from 1981.

Lastly, an original copy of Sex Pistols: Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols from 1977 Warner Bros records.

Craigslist Lot of Punk and Hardcore 7"

I came across this guy way south of Seattle who had about 50 asst 7" and a couple of 12".

There is some really fun stuff in here but a lot that I will end up selling on eBay sooner or later.

I decided on keeping 5 7".

By far the best one is this really bizarre split between Less than Jake and Megadeth: All My Best Friends are Metalheads/The Disintegrators. It looks like it was released by Less than Jake and has no label listed or catalog numbers etc.. Likely a bootleg.

The other 4 are not quite as interesting, but cool nonetheless.

Good Riddance/Kill Your Idols split on Bridge 9 Records
Speak 714: The Scum Also Rises on Revelation Records from 1999
(2) Panic records: Self Titled and Dying for It, both on Bridge 9 Records

4 Original Slayer Records! South of Heaven/Reign in Blood/Seasons in the Abyss

Finally!
I won an auction for 4 Original Slayer Records! I have South of Heaven and Reign in Blood already and they are signed by Kerry King, but they were both warped a bit. I tried as best I could to get them to play again, but they only partially play.

So, I was looking to pick them up to replace the vinyl and got extremely lucky to find this Slayer lot.

This is all the best Slayer records, including Seasons in the Abyss, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven and Criminally Insane.

Now I have replacement vinyl for the signed covers and a copy of Seasons in the Abyss, that I did not have and Criminally Insane!

I added the copy of Show No Mercy, that I got a couple weeks ago to round out the collection, so far.

2 Pre-orders from Relapse! Misery Index: Hiers to Thievery and Repulsion: Horrified

A great Relapse pre-order. The newest Misery Index record, Heirs to Thievery limited to 500 on colored vinyl! This is the first time I heard the material and it is most definitely a step forward for these guys!

I also picked up a copy of Repulsion: Horrified. The original presses of this record are way expensive and the repress is really nice looking. Printed on 180g heavy wax.

Somehow I had missed these guys until around 2004 when they came to the Maryland deathfest.

My buddy was stoked to see them and I had no idea whatsoever what I was in for.

These guys totally blew me away. It was as if I found a couple of fantastic Slayer records from their heyday, but better, that I just happened to overlook.

3 fantastic records!! Slayer: Show No Mercy/ E Town Concrete: The Second Coming/ Downset: Check Your People

I came across a guy on eBay with a huge collection and I was able to score 3 records that I have been looking for!!

First is an original copy of Slayer: Show No Mercy on Roadrunner Records from 1983. This shows its age, but sounds excellent! The original price tag is 17.99 deutsche marks.

Next is E Town Concrete: The Second Coming on Final Beatdown Records from 2000.

This record shows up from time to time and I have been outbid on the last 3 copies of it. Finally I scored a copy. I would be very surprised to see this record repressed in the future. This is on marble yellow vinyl and is in good shape, but shows that it has been loved!

Last is another record that I have been looking for Downset: Check Your People.

This was released on Epitaph Records in 2000. Anyone who knows this record can vouch for it.

It is pretty unique and well done, for what it is. A great addition!

Again, this record looks like it has been played a bunch. I almost like it better that way, considering that it was released 11 years ago.

25 ta Life: Friendship Loyalty Commitment!!

This is a great copy of 25 ta Life: Friendship Loyalty Commitment on Triple Crown Records from 1999.

This copy looks almost new and I got it for a great price! Rick strikes again!

A classic NYHC release.
